Default amenorrhoea

My friend has been diagnosed with secondary amenorrhoea.she got her periods at the age of 14 once and then after a year.investigations revealed that it was a prmature ovarian failure.the karyotype was normal.the hormone lvels tsh and lh being very high.she was given cycles of novelon for 3-5 years and she gt the menses every month.after that doctors did more investigations to know the cause and concludd that it was premature ovarian failure.and she may or may not take medicines.she stopped it completely.

Now even though she takes any estrogen and progesterone medicines she does not get the periods.and she says the scan reveals very small uterus Is there any treatment for this ?she is 25 now.can she go ahead with marriage? What are the chances of pregnancy?
please suggest

Default Premature Menopause - Fertility

Thank you for your interesting questions. I am saddened to hear that your friend has a premature menopause. It must be devastating for a woman to lose her fertility at such a young age.

The chance of a natural pregancy in the situation that you describe is sadly very low with occurences in the range of one pregnancy for every 2000 women.

The best option for her fertility would be IVF with donor eggs. http://www.2womenshealth.com/In-Vitr...on-IVF-USA.htm

As far as cessation of bleeds are concerned with cyclical HRT, this occurs in many women and has no implication for pregnancy.

The size of the uterus can influence the chance of success with IVF. Almost certainly it can be increased by increasing the estrogen in the HRT

My kindest regards
