Polycystic Ovary Syndrome - Glucose Tolerance

 


When sugar (glucose) is swallowed, it is absorbed and glucose levels in the blood rise. Insulin output is increased and this prevents the blood sugar rising too high unless you are diabetic. As women with PCO are not usually diabetic, their glucose tolerance is normal.
