CAESAREAN SECTION

The caesarean section rate has been rising. Some private units have 50% of their deliveries by caesarean. High rates of caesarean delivery do not necessarily indicate better perinatal care and can be associated with harm.0601

 

Exteriorization of the uterus for repair is associated with an increased incidence of nausea and vomiting and tachycardia during cesarean delivery under spinal anesthesia. Uterine repair should be done in situ where possible.
