What happens after the D and C?

The first period or two following a D and C may be early or late, light or heavy. About 7-10 days following cautery there may be a little bleeding when the scab comes away. In the unlikely event that the bleeding seems worryingly heavy you should contact the hospital. We recommend that for three weeks after this operation, tampons should not be used and sexual intercourse should be avoided.
